Located in upscale South Kensington, the V&A is a world-leading centre of art and design.

Founded in 1852, the iconic museum boasts an extensive, diverse collection spanning centuries and continents. Yes, there are paintings: but the decorative arts are the real draw here!

This includes the national collection of textiles and fashion, stretching all the way back to the early days of Ancient Egypt; the world’s premier selection of ceramics; and more than 3000 pieces of beguiling jewellery.

Oh, and let’s not forget the museum’s impressive collection of Renaissance sculpture – the largest outside of Italy!

Originally located in Westminster, the V&A moved to its current location in 1857. Architects have been tinkering with the site ever since, resulting in a sprawling complex of buildings. A unique blend of Victorian and modern design, it’s fair to say that the museum is a work of art in its own right!
